Restoration and extension to Castle Upton Gate Lodge, Templepatrick

The project at Castle Upton involved the demolition of a number of small unsympathetic extensions and the extension of the rooms at both sides of the gate to provide two separate symmetrically balanced dwellings.

The extensions were built in a regular basalt stone with stone trimmings, slated roofs and cast iron lattice windows to match exactly the existing lodge. The parapet to the tower was showing signs of movement and part of this contract included the dismantling and rebuilding of the tower parapet.

Winner of RICS commendation awards

The project at Castle Upton won a commendation in the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) awards in the 'Regeneration' category for Northern Ireland.
